"Be civil. Don't say things you wouldn't say in a face-to-face conversation. Avoid gratuitous negativity."
Startup News is a social news website that caters to programmers and entrepreneurs, delivering content related to computer science and entrepreneurship. It is the predescessor to Hacker News. It was run by Paul Graham's investment fund and startup incubator, Y Combinator. It was replaced by Hacker News because Paul Graham felt that content should not be limited to technical subjects and startups. Instead Grahma wanted content to be 'anything that gratifies one's intellectual curiosity'.
